Design & business context / Fictional study
From a conversation to a design with character.
Casa Marga is an invented ceramic lighting workshop. This study follows a client brief through to a visual concept, with the business rules kept intact.
A working studio, not a shopping cart.
The fictional founder makes ceramic lamps for interior designers working on restaurants and small hotels. Each project needs a conversation before a price or delivery date can be confirmed.
- Professional projects are the main audience.
- The first step is a project enquiry.
- Material variation is part of the product.
“I first imagined an online shop. Actually, for this first website, each project needs a quote.”
Excerpt from the authored fictional brief
The information existed. The direction did not.
The meeting notes mixed product details, visual preferences and an earlier idea that the founder later changed. Designing straight from those notes could easily produce the wrong buying journey.
- Instagram image starts a conversation.
- Dimensions, quantities and dates arrive across messages.
- The designer has to separate decisions from passing ideas.
- The workshop still needs to confirm price and delivery.
A warmer page. A clearer next step.
The chosen direction pairs editorial typography with a simple project-led structure. Change the form study below to explore the visual concept.

A project starts with a conversation ↗Original fictional form studies. No product photography, verified dimensions or real catalogue is shown. This is a design concept, not a functioning shop.
Context first. Design second.
A reusable briefing skill turned the meeting into a traceable business brief and two visual directions. One independent Codex run produced the handoff; the “Open Workshop” direction informed this original HTML/CSS/SVG concept.
Briefing skill
Separates stated facts, corrections, design interpretations and open questions.
Codex-assisted design
A reviewed handoff and an original browser prototype.
Human review points
Product assets, enquiry handling and the chosen direction still need client approval in a real project.
What has not been measured
No conversion uplift, time savings or cross-model benchmark is claimed.
No teacher material, real client data or third-party product imagery was used. Full prompts and evaluation files are kept outside this public portfolio.
